Sorry for the dark photo. We were experimenting with the settings on the camera.
This meal transpired because of the burger buns we found at a small bakery close to us. A quality bun, slightly on the large side. The burger itself was a bit of what was in the kitchen at the time. Potatoes, peas, carrots, onions and some mint-corriander chutney that needed to be used. After mixing all of it together, I shaped the mixture into patties, dipped them in beaten egg, covered them with rava (semolina) and shallow fried them. I also made some potato crisps and a small salad to go with the burger.
Tasty. The burger reminded me of the McAloo Tikki. The iconic McDonald hamburger is not on offer in India. Chicken, fish and veggie options only. The few times that I have been, I've had their McAloo Tikki, a potato version. Carbs on carbs, just like we like it here! It's quite tasty but I can't compare to the real deal. I have never been to a McDonald's in the US of A.
What?!?! At least now we have a field trip planned when y'all come back to the states (:
